Forum Post: gINT output issues - Connect Edition

I have recently downloaded and installed the Connect Edition of gINT version 10.00.00.41 (gINT logs). I am having issues with the output of logs. Everytime I try to print, pdf or even screen preview the logs the program freezes??? Is the output dependant on internet connectivity?

Hi Claire, No, the output is not dependent on the internet connectivity. Is this happening on a specific project file? What windows OS do you have?

Hi Aparna, We have recently updated all of our computers to Windows 10. I did try initially to install gINT from the disc that we have (Select V8.1) but it kept coming up with errors. I then logged onto Bentley and found that there was a new version?? Perhaps I installed the incorrect version?? It is happening on all of our files. Also on the odd time that it did print, the output reports are not looking as they previously did??

The subject Wiki was updated on Mar 29, 2017, and appears to refer to version 10.04.00.39 of the gINT Civil Tools Connect Addition. I can not find a download link to this version of the software. Is this version available to the public? All I can find is a link to version 10.00.00.80. Thank you, Brian L.

Brian, 10.00.00.80 is the official release of gINT Civil Tools. The videos were made in progress versions for internal testing.

Hi - Was there any development with this request? I am also interested in BIM visualisation of ground conditions. Hayden

If you have gINT, you want the companion gINT Civil Tools. You can very easily import your gINT database and render 3D boring stems with each strata, as well as easily create tin surfaces of the strata. You can export this info in DGN or DWG format, as well as 3D PDF.

Forum Post: Graph showing sieve results, and upper and lower limits

Hi, first time writing here. Fairly new to gINT as well. I'm trying to streamline the way our company creates borehole logs, and sieve plots. BH logs I'm doing ok with, so far anyway, but am having trouble with the sieve plot / graph. What I was trying to do was add two extra fields under 'Lab Testing', 'Sieve', 'SV Readings', so that I could enter the upper and lower limits at the same time as entering the sieve results. At present to create the sieve plot with three plotted lines, I was creating three separate 'PointID's, and doing it that way. But when I started looking at XY Graph Report's properties, I noticed that I says under 'Dependent Data', that you could have up to six Data Expressions. So I thought, I could just add a couple of new fields under 'SV Readings' table, add them into Data Expression 2, and it would plot another curve along my sieve results. The expression would look something like this: >, >)>> Sorry if this is long winded and confusing - welcome to my gINT'ing world :-) Any help or suggestions would be great. Thanks Happy logging.

Hi I am using gINT V8i Professional Plus. When I enter the output tab the input fields are skewed to the right exceeding the program window with no scrolling option as seen in the screendump below. Any ideas on how to fix it? \Frederik

Further: Data design and report design tabs do the same thing. Only the input tab appears correctly onscreen.

Frederik, If you have dual monitor setup, try moving gINT to the other monitor, close gINT and open. Also check if you have multiple instances of gINT in the task manager, if so end task them. If this does not work you may want to reset the setup.gsh file. Check this thread in which I have mentioned how to reset the setup.gsh.

Thanks. My dual monitor setup appears to cause the trouble. gINT will only run normally on the main display.

Hi, I'm still relatively new to gINT'ing. What I want to do is add a new tab (a gINT Table I think), to my 'Input' 'Main Group' screen. I want the first two columns to be dropdown lists. The first being a list of all borehole / monitoring wells in the project. The second being any Samples within the first columns BH / MW. There would then be a few columns indicating whether the 'BH / Sample' from the first two columns had been submitted for analysis for that columns parameter, i.e. Metals. So my column headings would look something like this..... Borehole / MW ref SampleID Metals PAHs PHCs etc. BH01 SS1 X X All I've managed to work out so far is creating a new Table, and adding a Boolean field for the Metals. I'm struggling with making the columns for the BH / MW, and then the SampleID column. Any ideas or suggestions would be most welcome. Thanks

Our template was created with a header and I want to be able to edit that information on several templates. I want the "logo and title all" and the "int page 1 header" to be easily changeable. In other words, I want the entire form/template to be part the rest of the log where I can double click on any entity to change it. How can I explode the header and logo sections?

Hi Besty, To explode a block ...Click on the explode button in the toolbar . Then click on the block name you wan to explode. Then hit ok. If you explode a block The entities will only be tied to this report. A block allows you to update multiple reports at the same time so keep that in mind before you explode a block is that any change you make will need to be made in each report. See image For more information about working with blocks and what they are used for please see..

Hi Rob, A gINT project is a relational database( Access file). For simplicity you could just add the fields (Boolean) to your sample table. If you want a separate table then I would add a new table and make it a child of Sample. In the sample Table you could set the field properties to show in children and those fields would show. Here is link to data design tutorial describing how to work with a gINT database. You can contact me if you need to go into more details. kirk.johnson@Bentley.com
