I'm a little new at using gint platform. I have all the CPT data on an excel file, and I can't quite understand how to log that data on the CPT tab, and there's no info on the Lab testing user guide. Can someone please tell me how to log the CPT data? Thanks

In gINT, I need to start with 0 to 25 feet as a Blind Drill. Is there a way to note 0-25 ft in a shorthand or with a symbol, instead of having a blank page and a half?

Hi Carol, Please see this community topic it is basically the same thing. How to start a report at a different depth. If this doesn't resolve your issue please e-mail me kirk.johnson@Bentley.com and I can look at your files and discuss how you want the report to behave. communities.bentley.com/.../106413

Probably the solution is to, make a PointID, then copy paste the data from excel into gINT's CPT table, then output reports. You better check the units of the data in excel match those in gINT. If you want to do the exceptional with CPTs, check this out: www.datgel.com/DatgelCPTTool.aspx

I have a question about correspondence files. I use one to regularly convert projects in order to rename a table from QU to QUx. (This was necessary because gintEnterprise requires table names to be at least three characters.) The problem is that if I mistakenly run the conversion twice on a project, the source table (QU) doesn't exist the second time, and therefore the data in the QUx table is not transferred to the new project. I need a way in the correspondence file to only transfer data if the source table exists. Is that possible?

Does anyone know of or is there a solution to monitor the number of simultaneous users for gINT that would prevent a license overage usage?

You might also want to look at this thread of posts that adds the ability to compress layers that are the same for several pages or without descriptions for several pages. If you just want to eliminate the top several feet then the top depth report property is the way to go. communities.bentley.com/.../198774

The material graphic and well screen symbols of the directional drill holes displayed on gINT cross-sections do not display correctly. However, when I remove the bearing and plunge from the Point and Orienttation tabs, the graphic are represented correctly, but the drill hole is not directed. How do I get the material graphics to display correctly for directional drill holes?

I guess you didn't populate the AGS Edition Number see: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Bentley\gINT V8i\docs\gint_V8i_and_AGS4.pdf" pdf page 14, printed page 13 Exporting AGS Data To export your data to an AGS file, you must first fill in at least the required (yellow background) fields in the FILE TRANSMISSION (TRAN) table. What is most important is the AGS Edition Number. You must select the correspondence file which matches the version specified. If you specify the edition as “4” or “4.0” (or any number that starts with “4”), you must use the GINT STD 4 TO AGS 4.GCX as the correspondence file if you are using the files provided with gINT. If you specify “3” for the edition then GINT STD 4 TO AGS 3_1.GCX is required. The “Process” field is not an AGS field. The two choices are “Export” and “Import. During export, gINT selects the "Export" record with the most recent date for the relevant information. "Import" records are automatically populated using the import correspondence files provided with the AGS4 files.

Thank you Phil! Actually I just figured out that my project doesn't have the relevant tabs such as DICT or TRAN. And if I convert my project to the DataTemplate provided earlier in this forum (and specific to AGS4), I lose a lot of data and it doesn't work better. So I wonder how worth it is to create these tables in my original project... Would you have some advise for this?

Hi Jerome It is the "hard road" retrofitting AGS support on an existing gdt/glb. Better adopt a gdt/glb that supports AGS4 and AGS 3.1, then convert your reports over, and write a gci to import data from your old gpj to the new one. The only realistic options to consider for your new gint system are: 1. The free "gint std ags 4_0" which has about 20 reports and moderate functionality 2. The DGD Tool Pro ( www.datgel.com/Datgel-DGD-Tool.aspx ) which has extensive functionality and >300 reports, including offshore example reports. (at a moderate cost) cheers Phil

I suggest you start by setting up weekly and monthly usage reports, as described here: www.datgel.com/.../12-gint-usage-data-reporting.aspx You can also turn on Notifications, which will send you an email when excess usage just after it happened. Get people to close gINT after they finish using it....don't leave it open for 8 hours a day. If you have a problem with using the wrong gINT product level, then create desktop short cuts as described here: www.datgel.com/.../13-gint-desktop-shortcut.aspx

You can have a reference to both tables, use the Add Group button. it may be easier to open the gci in Notepad++, then copy paste the table block and edit.
