You are able to style various aspects of how the Locations appear on the background map. The areas of customisation are: Size of Location symbol- Ability to change size based on zoom level Add/change Labels and style also based on zoom level Adding/changing tooltips for the Locations. The Locations Styling are styled within the Configuration Pack and not per project, so it is important to note that the styles will carry across all the projects within that Configuration Pack. Select Default Locations from the Configuration Tools menu, by default there will be pre-configured location styles available. These styles can be modified or deleted and new ones created if required. From the above image you can see that Location symbols have been defined and zoom levels set per size. These can be amended by selecting an area you wish to adjust and applying the changes. If you want to remove a layer, select the layer a press Remove. You can also copy a selected layer by highlighting the one you want to copy and selecting the Copy button. The example below shows that the symbol size will increase when the zoom level changes from 2-3 and again from level 4.

If you have recently started receiving a message that says cannot locate library and you then browse to the library and are unable to click on it this is most likely due to a Microsoft Update from early August 2020. This Microsoft update causes an issue with the Microsoft Access Database engine 32-bit that gINT requires. Two Options to Reinstall the Access Database engine 32-bit 1.Goto control panel programs. Find the Microsoft Access database engine… Select it and run repair 2. Let gINT Reinstall the Access Database engine 32-bit First make sure there are not any gINT processes running in task manager. If so end them. Then uninstall gINT and also uninstall the access 2010 redistrib 32 bit from control panel. If you have 2 redistributables , the smaller one is usually the 32 bit one. You will probably need to reboot. After reboot reinstall gINT. It should prompt the install of the prerequisite Access 2010 redistrib 32 bit…. let the program reinstall it. Then you may be prompted to reboot again after install. Then reopen gINT. Below shows the Access Database engine in control Panel

Hi Miranda, The screen you are showing is a field property that sees if that field is referenced in any of the reports in the current library you have open. It could be that you have another library file that has reports that reference that field. In that case goto file ..change library and open a different library file. If you want that information to show up on a report you will need to write an expression to call it into a column. There are a wide variety of ways that can be done and a wide variety of entities, report types that this is done. Below is the report design tutorial that describes how to create a column and write expressions (call in tables and fields into reports) If you need more specific information based on your custom database and reports please create a service request online and add your custom gINT files (library and Project) to the service ticket. https://apps.bentley.com/srmanager/ProductSupport

Forum Post: gINT Administrator form modification

I watched the form modification video that Katie made, but it only handled some basic stuff. I've only just begun to mess with it, so I'm still in the clunky phase. First off, I really like this layout on this part of the form I've messed with. The only problem.... I don't know how I did it. There are definitely fields which don't need to be very wide, so something similar would be a good look for many things, to avoid wasting space. Second, is there a way to place a dividing line? The boxes run together. I'd like to place blocks around certain groups of a line all the way across to divide parts of the form. Next, Is there a way to connect the tablet to the system without wifi? Our office doesn't have wifi, so I can't experiment with the tablet without taking it home or some other location. Can I tether it into our wired network? Lastly, is there a way to make a combo list? I'd like to use a radio button for something like Limestone, Shale, Sandstone, and Other. Then, next to Other, there's a pulldown for another list of options.

Hi Jeff, It might be easier to discuss the different points in a call. Feel free to reach out to me directly at Marie-Claude.Dube@Bentley.com I tried to recreate a similar layout (like the in the screen shot you provided) but I can't. Currently, there's no way to place a divided line. Being able to group components in different sections of the form is a request in our backlog. You can use the Preview tool in gINT Administrator to see how the form will display on the tablet. To test the form, you need a connection on your tablet to access those forms. There's no direct way to transfer the forms from your computer to the tablet. For the last item, currently, it is not possible to split a list of values for a specific property in different component types. If I understand, you would like to see your top 5 items displayed with radio button and the remaining items would be in a drop down component, is that correct? Again, feel free to contact me directly if you need more details. Thanks, Marie-Claude

Forum Post: Using Output Override X on a Fence Diagram

I have set up my fence template with the Geological Description on the right side of the stick, and the user has the option of including the USCS code on the right side also. I want to set it up so that if the USCS code is added, the Geological description moves over to accommodate it. I tried using "Output Override X" with the expression > = "R", 0.25)>>, but instead of moving over a quarter inch, it ends up off the page. How would I do this?

Hi Zachary, If you can edit the template in Template Studio you will find an option for "Shrink to Fit". This will make the text size reduce to fit the column. Thanks Martyn
