Hi, If you want to send me an e-mail kirk.johnson@Bentley.com . I can go through the steps of creating an overlaid graph report but will require you to create two graphs one being the original modifying the size of the graph area and then a second graph with the other data designed to fit on the original graph in an area with no information as an overlaid graph.

Forum Post: "Crippled" Error??
I can't generate any output because gINT is indicating VIEWER MODE and there's a "Crippled" error in the top right. How do I get around this? Please help.

Forum Post: RE: "Crippled" Error??
Hi Immanuel, Viewer mode or crippled ..Means you are not using a vaild licensed product. You would need to contact us so we can look at your account to determine what is causing the licensing issue. Sometimes it may be as simple as you have opened the product in a product level that you do not have a license for (Ie you are using gINT professional plus, but you only have a license for gINT professional). In other cases it may be related to your account. You can e-mail me at kirk.johnson@Bentley.com and we can get you to the correct dept based on what it is related to. In this case the user had been offline fro more then 30 days and needed to send logs. By going to help ...license tool...tools menu ..send logs now. Close and reopen gINT.

Forum Post: Export to Excel from Input
Hi all, I have a feeling I already know the answer to this, but I'm going to ask it anyway.... In Input, File - Import/Export, the list I am presented with has the "Import From Excel" option greyed out. I've got a horrible feeling that it's greyed out because I haven't got Excel on this PC (wouldn't touch it with the proverbial barge pole) I use LibreOffice, which will quite happily open and save to Excel..... and it's free! So, to Import data from an excel file, do I have to have Excel installed, If so, what is the earliest version that will work with gINT (I do think it's a bit poor that you have to have the software installed to be able to export to / import from its file structure, if that is the case) Ta Miles

Forum Post: RE: Export to Excel from Input
Hi, Yes excel is required as gINT uses Excel interoperability to create/read Excel spreadsheets (.xls, .xlsx ). An alternative would be to import and export as text file using .csv format. Excel 2007 and later should be ok

Forum Post: Can I export an .xml surface from gINT Civil Tools CONNECT?
I have recently installed gINT Civil Tool CONNECT, and have created terrain surfaces of top of bedrock and water levels. Can these surfaces be exported from the gINT Civil Tools CONNECT program as an .xml file that I can import back into gINT to display on fence diagrams, or do I need to export to a separate application with more functionality such as Civil 3D?

Forum Post: When exporting gpj to xlsx using correspondence file gcx
Hello, I am using the wiki instructions for importing/exporting data using a correspondence file. My purpose is to export gint data to an existing Excel file so I had to transpose the instructions some. I mapped all the source file (gint) expressions to the target file (excel), and then exported using the newly created correspondence file (.gcx). The resulting Excel file had all the data, but all of the column headings were changed to the gint field names. I was expecting that the Excel column headings would not be replaced. Have I missed a step? Thank you!

Forum Post: RE: When exporting gpj to xlsx using correspondence file gcx
Hello Tabha, That is correct, when exporting a gINT project to excel, the headings/table names/fields will be the same as they are in the gINT project.

Forum Post: Thickness Chart Not Displaying Numbers Correctly
Hello, On my Log report, I have created a column that calculates strata thickness based on top and bottom lithology depths. I ran into an issue today where the strata thickness number is not showing correctly in that too many decimal points are being displayed if the strata does not fall on an even number. See attached image - The limestone bed at 353' is 7.2', and is listed as 353-360.2' in the lithology table. I'm not sure why it is displaying as 7.19999..'. I have also tried formatting to 0.0 in the text expression. Any thoughts on why this may be occurring? Thanks in advance!

Forum Post: Exporting in future product releases
Hello, Our geology and exploration department is evaluating the use of gINT as a site-specific drill hole database for all of our mine operations nationwide. When we look at creating drilling plans for the future, we examine the data we have and decide where exploratory holes should be drilled and where data gaps are within existing data. We like gINT's ability to filter the database by various properties (drill hole depth, type, date, etc.) and show these drill hole locations on a site/plan view map (currently done under output). We would really like the ability to export the filtered drill locations to real world coordinates so we can overlay them on a site map and manipulate in autocad. Is this something that Bentley would be willing to add for a future release? Feel free to move this thread if this is not posted in the right location. Thanks! Sam

Hi Sam, We will have to take this to the product management. I will contact you privately on this.

Forum Post: RE: Exporting in future product releases
Sam, check out the gINT Civil Tools, it should be available to you with a gint pro or plus license. It is microstation based, but you can export to dwg. It will allow you to work in world coordinates, and also to overlay dwg site plans, aerial imagery or other georeferenced raster maps. I am still learning it, but a quick look at the query filters appears that it may be limited to fields in the point table, but it is still a very uesful tool. As William wrote, gINT Civil Tools is a good option for you , you can download it from the Bentley procurement web site. This will allow you to load the boreholes and any depth related ( depth or top-bottom) data into 3d world. You can use in DGN files and then export as DWG, or run gINT Civil Tools in DWG mode directly . Sam, It will be difficult to answer this without taking look at your files. Please send me an email with your files if you want to troubleshoot this further.

Forum Post: RE: Thickness Chart Not Displaying Numbers Correctly
Hi Aparna, I actually changed around the file so that instead of the calculation being on the report side, it is entered in input (or auto calculated in excel and imported). This actually works better because we can scan through the database and see thickness without have to create a log or calculate manually. Strangely, there are still funny things going on with the decimals, though they are no longer an issue. Sometimes when I import thickness data a number such as 10.5 may display as 10.49999999 in the lithology table. Again, not an issue because on the report I have thickness formatted to 0.0

Forum Post: RE: gINT Mobile - iPad or tablet
Hello Mathieu, While I don’t know how far along Bentley has advanced in developing a mobile solution for gINT, LogitEasy ( https://logiteasy.com ) has a field logging solution for iOS and Android devices that is integrated with gINT. Once you log the boring in their web-app, you can generate a PDF log and receive digital data in gINT, LogPlot, or Excel formats. LogitEasy’s interface is very intuitive, the solution works off-line (good for remote areas), and can also be used in the office as data entry interface for people who do not have time to learn gINT. And, if you still prefer paper field notes, LogitEasy will enter the data in gINT and draft the logs for you.

Check the field properties in your database, if the Type is "Text", it should display exactly as you type it. If it is not text, you can change it under Data Design
