I previously checked for punctuation in the Report Design and Data Design. I also tried to create a statement to conditionally display the period only if there were a USCS Group Name or Additional Description, but it still produces a period where there is no text. Here is an example of how the frozen soils column is input. The frozen soils are present from the ground surface to 2.5' bgs. The silty gravel soil interval exists between 0.75' bgs to 15.5' bgs. The full silty gravel soil interval has to be split into two intervals to show the frozen soils. There is no data other than what is shown here for the interval from 2.5' bgs to 15.5' bgs. The description for the full interval from 0.75' bgs to 15.5' bgs is entered at 0.75' bgs where the soil begins. In addition I would prefer the section bottom line not appear in the graphic log column where the frozen soils end.

Forum Post: RE: Data Posting Values Overlapping
I am not exactly sure of your situation but the way I deal with a similar situation is listed below. You may find it useful. I place all lab test results in a single column using a single entity. The single entity is aware of itself and thus will bump down if it detects interferenece with previously placed items. The text vs depth entity builds a text block that contains all available test results at each depth using a ListBuildSepTrim function as shown in the sample below: >,_ >,"PPen= > >")>>,_ >,"TVane= > >")>>,_ >,"Pt. Load= > >")>>,_ >,"VS= > >")>>,_ >, "PL= > >" )>>_ >, "LL= > >" )>>,_ >,"MC= > >")>>,_ >,"USCS= >")>>,_ >,"AASHTO= >")>>,_ >,"P#200= > >")>>,_ >,"P02= > >")>>,_ >,"FG= >")>>,_ >,"Sp.Gr.= > >")>>,_ >,"OLI= > >")>>,_ >,"ND= > >")>>,_ >,"MD= > > >OMC= > >")>>,_ >,"pH= > >")>>,_ >,"CL= > >")>>,_ >,"SO4= > >")>>,_ >,"Resist= > >")>>,_ >,"UU C= > >")>>,_ >,"Qu= > >")>>_ )>> Each element in the list is assembled using the carriage return > as a separator so each test result will plot on a separate line. The HasData function on each test result prevents printing of the text and the test result units if there are no test results. Thus if there is only one test result at a specific depth then only one line of text is generated. If there are three results then three lines of text are generated. For example if you had an LL a PL and a MC it would generate the following text block. PL = 20 % LL = 40 % MC = 29.8 % Note in the above code the PL and LL are plotted on the same line by eliminating the comma between the two lines of code so the ListBuildSepTrim function treats them as one item in the list I use a leader on the entity to point to the actual depth that each test result was obtained from so that if you have another test result very close it will bump down to avoid over lap but still show the proper depth. An example output is shown below (note that this sample does not exactly match the code presented above... I simplified the above for easier understanding. You can make it as complex as you want.). Note how the results for the second sample at 2.5' are bumped down to avoid overlap and a leader is drawn to the actual top of sample depth.

Forum Post: Repeated Blow Count values Disappear
When entering blow counts (Blows 1st, Blows 2nd, Blows 3rd) if any of the blow count values match exactly (eg at 3 feet 4-4-4, 8 feet 4-4-4), the second set of values disappear from the report. When the data is changed so that one of the blow count values is different than the preceding entry, the values plot on the report. Does gINT have sometype of error checking built in that prevents data from showing if it seems to be a repeat? Thanks in advance.

Forum Post: RE: Repeated Blow Count values Disappear
Hi Dan, It may be something with the individual files you are using. Can you privately send me the library and project (.glb, and .gpj) and I would be happy to look out what you have setup in your files. kirk.johnson@Bentley.com Here is what the standard shipping gINT files look like.

Forum Post: RE: Repeated Blow Count values Disappear
Hi Dan, I bet you have the remove repeated text property checked on the entity. goto report design double click on the text vs depth column entity ..it will open its properties. The go to the configuration tab .. see if you have the remove repeated text box checked.. if so uncheck and hit OK..Then retry the output.

Forum Post: displaying dxf on fence diagram
Is it possible to import a dxf to gINT and display the dxf on a fence diagram? I have tried to import a surface into the gINT project file to display in the fence diagram (as .str file), but i get the error 'The data must be captured in a regular grid scan with the points evenly distributed'. Thanks,

Assuming you have a profile drawing, even if it is a one line, then the Fence Drapes feature is the solution. See az47490.vo.msecnd.net/.../DGDT-UG-002_3.01.1_Datgel-DGD_Tool-User-Guide.pdf section: 2.15

FYI I contacted Customer Support about this, and basically for my situation I'm going to have to write gINT Rules to get what I want. They did not say anything about modifying the default Percent Finer calculation behavior mentioned in #1 above, or the apparent problems in #3.

Hello Sayed, Looks like you are using gINT Std US Lab files. US Std files are all set in English (feet) units. For metric units you may use Canadian files - gINT Std Canada files.

This blog shows how to rerun the installer and select more standard user files www.datgel.com/.../11-how-to-install-gint-standard-user-files.aspx most files are in metric, apart for gINT Std US and gINT Std US Lab.

Hi SH the Datgel Lab and In Situ Tool gINT Add-In supports this method, i can make some code changes if you need something different. www.datgel.com/Datgel-Lab-and-In-Situ-Tool.aspx

The answer to this is dependent upon your database structure. Also, i can't see the image you're referring to.

(Please visit the site to view this file) have modified a 11X17 landscape template to a 17X34 landscape template. When I print directly to a plotter or make a pdf, the fence diagram or data fram does not plot beyond a certain distance. How ever I can see the margin plots all the way to the point it is set at the right end. Please see the attached figure. Please ignore the small rectangle (work in progress). But the right side of the data frame should align with the numbers at the right side of the paper. I am not sure where I am making mistake. Please help me.

I would like to be able to select them all and let gINT to spread these boreholes 4 per page/fence (so my end result will be 6 automatically created fences/pages). Would appreciate you advice Ilia

Hi Sivarajan, From just this info (without the actual files I am taking my best guess as to what is happening) I suspect you do not have the right page size assigned to the report. In Report Design..choose the report in the yellow drop down.. Then click on the report “properties” button just to the left of the yellow box (looks like a hand holding a sheet of paper). It will open the report properties. In the “general tab” you will see “page size” box. This list comes from windows default printer or a printer assigned to the report. Select the correct size for the report you designed. If you do not see the right page size then assign the printer with the page sizes you need. To set a printer to a report. From “report design” goto the file menu.. Choose set printer for reports.. A window will pop up allowing you to browse your printers and set the report . Pick your printer and the pick the report. (DO NOT LEAVE REPORTS BLANK AS THIS WILL SET ALL REPORTS) In many cases you only want one oversized report set to a plotter. Hit Ok . After you have set the printer for the report, you will need to go back into the report properties as described above and pick the correct page size. If this does not resolve. please send me your library and project so I can look at all of the details kirk.johnson@Bentley.com

Hello Sivarajan, Please check and set the frame width option by going to fence properties. The Frame Height seems okay from the diagram that you have provided. Also you may want to expand the rectangular border (polyline properties of the border) and change its X and Y values as per the new paper size. Fence tutorial on our BE Communities link explains how to convert the fence report from letter size to 11x17. You may want to check this and apply the changes as per your paper size. communities.bentley.com/.../271468

Hi David, Thanks for the information. I have followed exactly the same way you explained earlier. But the out put is the same. For some reason, the data frame does not plot after 250 m along the baseline. You can see there is a borehole information beyond 250 m. can send my library file to you.
